Real Estate Brokerage in Washington

Washington law requires every real estate broker to give the pamphlet Real Estate Brokerage in Washington to each party they provide real estate brokerage services to, and to any unrepresented party in the transaction. Brokers provide it as soon as reasonably practical, before or at the start of working together, and ask you to acknowledge that you received it.

The pamphlet is a plain-language summary of chapter 18.86 RCW. It explains what a broker owes to buyers and sellers, how agency relationships work, what a written brokerage services agreement covers, how limited dual agency works, how long an agency relationship lasts, and how brokerage compensation is disclosed.
